Pheasant Ridge
is proud to be one of the early pioneers of commercial wine making in Texas.   The winery and vineyard is family owned and is completely self-contained operation located in a appellation known as the "Texas High Plains."

The vineyard, planted in 1979, is one of the oldest in Texas and contains sixty acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Semillon.  The fruit is always hand-picked for the highest quality and the winery's production is approximately 10,000 cases per year.

The Red Wines of  Pheasant Ridge
are never rushed.  The fruit is hand picked and the Cabernet Sauvignon is oak aged for  two years before bottling.  All Pheasant Ridge White wines are French in style, delicately balanced, full in fruit, and include the only dry Chenin Blanc produced in Texas.

Noted wine critic Robert Parker has written, "Pheasant Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon is big, bold, and complex and competitive in quality with anyone."

The Gipson family has a long and dedicated tradition producing fine estate grown wines from the Texas High Plains. "Our focus is on quality, and we believe the rest will take care of itself.  Enjoy!"
